Peace Like A River

It was a wide river, mistakable for a lake or even an ocean unless you'd been wading and knew its current. Somehow I'd crossed it... Now I saw the stream regrouped below, flowing on through what might've been vineyards, pastures, orhards... It flowed between and alongside the rivers of people; from here it was no more than a silver wire winding toward the city. - Leif Enger, Peace Like A River

Had a nice time at the lake last night. We didn't swim, as Hanna has a bit of a cough, and John's voice sounds very strange. Kinda hoarse. He sounds so different, I've never heard him like this, it makes him sound so much older!

Last night I was reading them a little popup book about Noah's Ark, and a page said "And Noah's boat was called..." and I paused to see if they knew, and John said "a pirate ship!" Ha. He's really enjoying Peter Pan lately.

As we were reading, Hanna was off busy changing her dolly's diaper. We heard fireworks outside, so Hanna said her dolly was "scared", so she hugged and kissed her dolly. She's a little mommy.

Rhonda works today, so I'm not sure what I'll do with them today. Maybe our traditional day of going over to the bacon and egg place, a couple coin rides, and then stop by Arbys for lunch.
