Peace Like A River

It was a wide river, mistakable for a lake or even an ocean unless you'd been wading and knew its current. Somehow I'd crossed it... Now I saw the stream regrouped below, flowing on through what might've been vineyards, pastures, orhards... It flowed between and alongside the rivers of people; from here it was no more than a silver wire winding toward the city. - Leif Enger, Peace Like A River

Well, some good news today. Saddam Hussein was captured alive in Iraq by US forces. Yay! Hopefully this will be another important step towards peace in that region. And make no mistake, if it weren't for one person, George W. Bush, Hussein would still be in power today.

Played for orchestra today, so was at the church at 7:30. The others came from Sunday School. I saw John walking to the sanctuary for practice for their program, which is tonight. He was keeping up with the others, but Rhonda said she heard Sandra say "John Kouba, you need to take your seat." Oops, he must have been up and about. Hopefully they will both do well tonight!

I think they have to be at the church at 5:30. We'll be sure to bring the video camera, and will leave when they are done.
