Peace Like A River

It was a wide river, mistakable for a lake or even an ocean unless you'd been wading and knew its current. Somehow I'd crossed it... Now I saw the stream regrouped below, flowing on through what might've been vineyards, pastures, orhards... It flowed between and alongside the rivers of people; from here it was no more than a silver wire winding toward the city. - Leif Enger, Peace Like A River

Enjoying a quiet day after Christmas. Rhonda is at work again, and the kids are watching Dora. When that it is over, I'll take them outside. They've been cooped up for a couple of days.

Word has it a storm is blowing in tomorrow. Maybe not quite a blizzard, but should be very windy.

The kids watched a Thomas video earlier, and Hanna was kind of naming the characters they show in between stories! When Sir Topham Hatt was one of them, she said Hat!

Had a nice dinner last night with Kyle and his mom and dad. John really enjoyed playing with Kyle, and was sad when Kyle had to go home. All the kids had fun playing with toys and chasing each other around.

The travellers called from Washburn, on their way to SD. We talked to Mom, Grandma, Brian and Nassim.
