Peace Like A River

It was a wide river, mistakable for a lake or even an ocean unless you'd been wading and knew its current. Somehow I'd crossed it... Now I saw the stream regrouped below, flowing on through what might've been vineyards, pastures, orhards... It flowed between and alongside the rivers of people; from here it was no more than a silver wire winding toward the city. - Leif Enger, Peace Like A River

Brrr shiver, was wicked cold this morning. At least felt that way. Got down to about 4 below over night, the coldest temp since it was 8 below last March 10. (Ahem, another reason I get tired of the long winters. Two weeks from the spring solstice and it was 8 below! It gets really old when it doesn't warm up around here till June.)

Should be another cold night tonight, and then will warm up to the 30s through most of next week. Will feel like a heat wave! Our snow fort is looking pretty forelorn out there, will have to rebuild it.
