Peace Like A River

It was a wide river, mistakable for a lake or even an ocean unless you'd been wading and knew its current. Somehow I'd crossed it... Now I saw the stream regrouped below, flowing on through what might've been vineyards, pastures, orhards... It flowed between and alongside the rivers of people; from here it was no more than a silver wire winding toward the city. - Leif Enger, Peace Like A River

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HANNA!!!!!!!!!! yay! You're two years old today. Such a big girl. When I got back to the farm after my weekend in Sioux City, Hanna seemed a little older, even though it had only been two days. She is growing, she fits into clothes that were way too big for her when we first got her. Same with John. We gotta quit feeding them.

Will have some cake tonight (which will please John!) and Hanna can open her presents. Grandma said she'd call, so the kids will like that.

We all went for a walk last night, even Ellie. It was such a nice evening. I pushed Hanna in the stroller, and John rode his red trike. We went all the way around the block, and coming back went around on Cloud Drive and back up that path between the houses to get to 120th Lane, so John pedaled a long ways! He just motors around!

Rhonda had went on a rummage sale rampage on Saturday, and got some neat stuff for the kidlings. She got a pair of plastic roller skates for John, and he just loves them. When he sees kids go by on scooters he always wants to play with them, so having something of his own on wheels is just keen. He still kinda trys to walk in them instead of skate, but he likes it. Rhonda had got him a pair of knee pads too, and we have his bike helmet, so those should protect from bumps and bruises.
