Peace Like A River

It was a wide river, mistakable for a lake or even an ocean unless you'd been wading and knew its current. Somehow I'd crossed it... Now I saw the stream regrouped below, flowing on through what might've been vineyards, pastures, orhards... It flowed between and alongside the rivers of people; from here it was no more than a silver wire winding toward the city. - Leif Enger, Peace Like A River

On Sunday when I had the teeball set out, I got to talking to John about something, I forget what, and then I noticed that in the meanwhile, Hanna was busy picking up the bat and trying to hit the ball too! She just has to be a part of everything going on around her!

John likes to toss balls down the driveway to me, so he does that too with the plastic baseballs for the teeball set, and one time Hanna saw us do that, so of course now whenever I have the set out, she waddles over, squats down and works to pick up a ball in each hand, and then waddles over to the driveway and tosses them down the hill! (so now have to watch her and get to her before the balls end up in the street)

We did some shopping last night. Went over to that new Target in Lino Lakes. I'd shop more if all stores were like that. Very quiet. I don't think a lot of people are in the habit of shopping there yet. Plus, it is back a ways from the road. After that, we went over to the Village to go to Walmart and Cub. John is pretty sharp, and knew where he was, cuz when we drove into that area, he started saying "play with trains", as that is where that store is with the Thomas train set Mom and Rhonda have taken him to play with a few times! Of course, when we went into Walmart, John just ran over to those little kiddie rides. After we were done, we got some quarters and gave them a ride in the helicopter and the car. John seemed a little unsure when the helicopter started rocking back and forth, but he liked the car.

It is a little cooler here this week. Temps in the mid-50s, perhaps close to 60. But, there's been some wind which adds to the coolness. Might get some rain today and tomorrow, then "warming" up to just above 60 again. Eek. Time to move to the Deep South. How bad can high humidity be?

Tonight is a big night on the local sports scenes. Both the Wild and the Timberpuppies will be playing at home, at the same time, in their respective playoff games. And, the Twins are playing in the Dome as well tonight. They are playing Tampa Bay. Hmm, given that both teams aren't very good, and with the other playoff games, I suspect you could get a ticket to the Twins game. I'll be curious to see what the attendance is tonight.
