Peace Like A River

It was a wide river, mistakable for a lake or even an ocean unless you'd been wading and knew its current. Somehow I'd crossed it... Now I saw the stream regrouped below, flowing on through what might've been vineyards, pastures, orhards... It flowed between and alongside the rivers of people; from here it was no more than a silver wire winding toward the city. - Leif Enger, Peace Like A River

Had a very nice Easter weekend. Mom and Dad and Grandma Schultz arrived Saturday around 4:30. We had some Papa Murphy's pizza, and John had fun seeing the visitors, and the visitors got to meet Hanna!

Sunday I played in the orchestra for both services, so had to be at church at 7:30. The rest came later for the first service. Dad and Rhonda helped out in the nursery. (Never fails to amaze me how people cannot be counted on to do their part in a church nursery, especially if they regularly bring their kids and use the service.) There was no Sunday School, and instead there was a pancake breakfast. Boy, was that ever good. Good pancakes, ham and fruit, and juice. Hanna just gobbled and gobbled.

When we got home, the kids took a nap, and we ate closer to 5 or so. Thanks for Grandma and Mom for helping Rhonda. They made some yummy scalloped potatoes, and we also had ham and frog eye salad. Grandma brought some pickles. mmmm all around.

Played some more in the evening, and all to bed. The visitors left a little before 7 am. Nice to see them, wished they could stay longer!
