Be Strong and Courageous
- How would you feel? Think of what Joshua has seen. (Deut. 34:9-12)
- The Lord spoke directly, personally, to Joshua (Josh. 1:3,5)
- Repeated words of encouragement (Josh. 1:6,7,9)
Conditions for Success
- Comprehend
- Meditate on the Word day and night (v. 8)
- Practice
- Do not turn from it to the right or to the left (v. 7)
- Communicate
- Do not let the Law depart from your mouth (v. 8)
- Were God’s promises conditional or unconditional? (Gen. 12:1-3, 13:14-17)
Trust and Obey, There’s No Other Way
- Joshua takes his first steps as leader (v. 10)
- Everybody pitches in (v. 12-15, Deut. 3:8-19)
- A resounding vote of confidence from the people (v. 16-18)
